Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Paarl. The role covers design, development, testing and certification of electrical systems for aircraft, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.

You will work on new designs and upgrades, collaborate with systems, structures, and manufacturing teams, and apply DO-160 and MIL-STD-704 standards, SPICE/PSCAD tools, and electrical CAD in a structured engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (electrical specialization).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft electrical system design and development.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools, SPICE, PSCAD, and power system analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of aerospace electrical standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-704).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop aircraft electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems.
• Specify electrical components, wiring harnesses, and equipment according to system requirements and aerospace standards.
• Perform load analysis, fault tree analysis, and worst-case circuit analysis for electrical systems.
• Oversee integration and testing of electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Prepare and review design specifications, test procedures, and certification reports for the Paarl facility.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration.
