Job summary

Cirrus is seeking a Principal/Staff-level engineer to serve as technical authority for aircraft automation and system management. You will drive architecture, prototyping, and verification across sensing, avionics, and flightdeck domains, while guiding cross-functional teams through rapid iteration and safety considerations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with certification stakeholders, rapid prototyping cycles, and alignment with engineering standards to mature concepts towards product

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Software, Systems, or Computer Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in automation, embedded controls, or aircraft systems.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and data acquisition.
  • Strong communication across technical and manufacturing disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system functions and pilot interactions with cross-functional teams.
  • Define automation mode logic and system behavior with verification plans.
  • Prototype and validate architectures for aircraft system management.
  • Create engineering data: trade studies, interface definitions, drawings.
  • Lead risk, hazard, and integration issue resolution.
  • Support certification activities with stakeholders.
