Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale AI systems that enable enterprise-wide innovation. The role requires in-office presence 1–2 days per week, with the option to report to the Pulse Point location in Atlanta, GA, and alternate offices within commuting distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 15 years of software engineering experience with distributed systems and large-scale architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver scalable AI solutions using agentic systems and LLMs.
• Define enterprise-wide technical direction and reusable platform capabilities.
• Lead AI-driven modernization of legacy systems via automated code transformation and service decomposition.
• Design AI-enabled SDLC practices to improve engineering velocity and quality.
• Establish governance and best practices for AI systems, including monitoring and evaluation.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable adoption of AI-assisted development.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the organization.
