Stanley Black & Decker seeks a Principal Engineering AI Solution Architect in Towson, MD to drive AI initiatives across the product engineering lifecycle. You will shape requirements with cross-functional teams and deliver AI-enabled mechatronics and digital twins for power tool platforms.

The role combines hands-on engineering with AI strategy in a hybrid environment, requiring 10+ years in engineering and 5+ years applying AI/ML to physical products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in engineering or computer science.
• 10+ years in product engineering or embedded systems with 5+ years applying AI/ML to physical products and workflows.
• Proven track record deploying AI/ML in production, including embedded/edge platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms, data engineering, and MLOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-driven solutions embedded in the product engineering lifecycle.
• Apply AI/ML to mechatronic systems and embedded controls.
• Develop digital twins and physics-informed/surrogate models.
• Collaborate with product engineering, controls/firmware, and manufacturing engineering to define requirements.
• Coordinate end-to-end implementation of AI projects from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
