Zscaler, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer-AI Security to join our Hybrid team based in the US (Bellevue, WA or San Jose, CA with 3 days in office).

You will architect and implement a low-latency AI security plane using Rust, build scalable distributed systems, and collaborate across the development lifecycle to drive security innovations. Responsibilities include optimizing performance, maintaining gRPC APIs, and guiding multi-functional projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience in Rust with async frameworks
• Proven ability to design scalable distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals and networking
• Experience with gRPC, Protobufs, and APIs

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a low-latency AI security plane in Rust
• Build and maintain distributed, scalable systems with concurrency and fault tolerance
• Develop and expose gRPC services and APIs for control/orchestration
• Optimize performance across the stack, incl. LLM models, with profiling tools
• Lead multi-functional projects and drive technical roadmap across teams
