Job summary

Zscaler is hiring a Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer-AI Security in a hybrid role based in the San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA area. You will design and scale core AI security infrastructure, focusing on high-throughput, low-latency systems and secure integration with control planes.

Build distributed services with Rust, Tokio/async-std, and gRPC, collaborating across teams to push AI security capabilities. 8+ years of experience and strong Linux expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and AI-driven solutions.
• Deep experience in systems programming using Rust with asynchronous frameworks.
• Proven ability to design horizontally scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• Strong command of Linux internals, networking, and performance instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement low-latency AI Security plane in Rust.
• Build distributed, scalable systems with concurrency and fault tolerance.
• Implement and maintain gRPC services and APIs for integration with control infrastructure.
• Optimize performance of LLMs and system stack with profiling tools.
• Lead complex projects and drive technical roadmaps across teams.
