Job summary

Tenable seeks an AI Security Engineer to shape and mature security for AI within products and the enterprise. You will design controls across the AI/ML lifecycle, lead assessments, and build tooling to raise security posture.

You will work with engineers and product teams to embed best practices, drive SSDLC, and stay ahead of AI threat vectors. Applicants must be US-authorized; hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information security or application security with AI focus.
• Master’s Degree preferred; advanced degree preferred.
• Deep understanding of AI-specific security threats (adversarial ML, data poisoning, prompt injection).
• Strong coding experience in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, TensorFlow or similar.
• Experience with interpretability/probing tools such as TransformersLens, Captum, or LIT.
• Cloud security knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data security basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end security controls across the AI/ML lifecycle.
• Conduct AI safety assessments and threat modeling for AI/ML systems.
• Design and implement guardrails for LLMs/SLMs and open-source models.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to bake security into AI development, training, and deployment.
• Drive SSDLC and DevSecOps practices for AI-powered products, including threat modeling and security testing.
