Job summary

Algolia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the search team. You will contribute to the design and development of the cloud-based NeuralSearch platform, handling indexing and distributed systems at internet scale.

You will operate Search in production, participate in on-call duties, and work with a mostly remote team with options for hybrid or Paris-based offices. Strong English communication and a track record of building robust distributed systems are required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
• Experience working with large datasets and high traffic.
• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Experience at our current stage and beyond (high growth, changing infrastructure).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Search and Indexing components.
• Own operations for Search including on-call responsibilities.
• Collaborate with a fully-remote team and other groups to troubleshoot high-impact issues.
• Ensure quality and soundness of the distributed system.
• Share expertise on distributed systems across the team.
