Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead AI/ML initiatives across teams, from design to deployment. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Learning Design, and UX to deliver advanced educational experiences.

Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree in a relevant field, have post- doctorate experience, and demonstrate strong Python/SQL skills. This is a remote role open to the entire United States.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in AI, data science, CS, or related field.
• 1+ years of work experience after doctorate.
• Ability to apply DS/AI knowledge to define and resolve problems with limited information.
• Deep understanding of AI engineering patterns and LLM principles; recent LangGraph work.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (5+ years).

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on diverse projects with weekly manager check-ins.
• Support/guide junior colleagues, including acting as team lead on shared projects.
• Propose solutions to business problems based on limited information and precedent.
• Solve problems by adopting, adapting, and extending DS/AI approaches.
• Collaborate with functions to create compelling learning experiences.
• Balance multiple projects and revise plans as needed.
