Job summary

Archer seeks a research-focused ML engineer to design and evaluate autonomy, trajectory prediction, and perception models for its next-gen air mobility platform. You will collaborate with research teams to prototype from literature, benchmark new approaches, and bridge research to production.

The role requires a Master's in a related field, deep experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, and expertise in transformers, diffusion models, and Mixture of Experts. Visa sponsorship may be available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computational Sciences, Machine Learning, Robotics or Informatics.
  • Must be highly skilled with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and with debugging and defining data/training/evaluation requirements.
  • Knowledge of Transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, multi-modal foundation models, diffusion policies, fine-tuning, model distillation, and mixture of experts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning and deep learning algorithms focusing on autonomy, trajectory prediction, and perception.
  • Iterate on predictive and decision-making model development from data to training, architecture, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with research engineers to prototype solutions from academic literature and validate them.
  • Conduct experiments to benchmark techniques and evaluate model behavior in dynamic or simulated environments.
  • Develop tools and frameworks to support scalable and reproducible research.
  • Communicate research findings to leadership concisely and convincingly.
  • Stay current with Autonomy and Generative AI developments to identify innovations.
  • Assist in transitioning research prototypes into production-ready systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms, with a specific focus on autonomy, trajectory prediction, and perception.

  • Develop tools and frameworks to support scalable and reproducible research.
  • Communicate research findings to leadership in a concise, and convincing manner.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in Autonomy and Generative AI to identify relevant innovations.
  • Assist in transitioning research prototypes into production-ready systems.

Minimum Education Requirement: Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computational Sciences, Machine Learning, Robotics or Informatics.

Special Requirements: Must be highly skilled with AI and ML frameworks, such as Pytorch or Tensorflow. Must have skills with debugging and determining requirements for AI models in terms of data, training and evaluation.
