Job summary

PACCAR Advanced Controls is seeking a Project Engineer to independently manage major AI projects, coordinating across PACCAR Technical Center teams and divisions. You will develop, verify, and deploy AI-enabled solutions driving productivity in engineering, V&V, and manufacturing support.

You will mentor junior staff, document processes, and deliver reusable tools and workflows with strong governance and reporting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a related engineering discipline
• Experience developing, evaluating, or deploying AI/ML solutions or advanced data-driven tools
• Strong background in programming, data analysis, system integration, and engineering practices
• Ability to independently manage major technical projects with complex features
• Experience coordinating cross-functional contributors and influencing without direct supervision
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, writing, presentation, and stakeholder-communication skills
• Ability to define problems and propose solutions across a broad scope

Responsibilities

• Independently manage AI engineering projects with complex scope, plans, milestones, risks, budgets, and status
• Lead development and deployment of AI/ML solutions across engineering, V&V, and manufacturing-support
• Develop AI-enabled tools, workflows, and automation for test execution and data analysis
• Integrate AI methods into engineering and validation processes to improve data utilization and cycle time
• Create PoC solutions and transition mature concepts into reusable tools for broader adoption
• Develop and maintain project data pipelines, datasets, models, interfaces, and docs
