Job summary

Confluent is seeking an experienced, strategic leader to define and drive its internal agentic AI capabilities. You will partner across Engineering, Security, and IT to scale AI usage and automate workflows that boost productivity for developers and engineers.

You will guide the rollout of AI-driven workflows, maintain governance standards, and ensure alignment with business KPIs while leading a team through complex cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years driving strategic productivity initiatives in SaaS/Cloud platforms or developer tools
• Expert in building distributed systems and the infrastructure to support them
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong communicator who translates complex technical strategies into measurable outcomes
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms and automation, including LLM integration
• Deep understanding of responsible AI practices and governance
• Ability to tie technical efforts to business KPIs such as adoption, retention, and revenue

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Confluent's internal agentic AI strategy and roadmap
• Partner with Engineering, Security, and IT to scale AI usage across the platform
• Lead cross-team programs requiring multi-stakeholder alignment and measurable ROI
• Balance hands-on contributions with strategic leadership (60% execution, 40% strategy)
• Define success metrics and KPIs for AI initiatives and monitor adoption
• Write internal playbooks for building and scaling agentic outcomes
