Job summary

Ramp is hiring for an Ops Engineering role focused on building internal tooling and infrastructure that enables operators to serve customers more efficiently. You will own internal applications, backend services, and integrations with platforms like Retool and Zendesk, leveraging AI to automate workflows and improve decision-making.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar.
• Experience building full-stack applications with React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, API design, and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Demonstrated aptitude with AI technologies, including LLM integration or AI-powered features.
• Experience building internal tools and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong product sense and user empathy in translating business needs to technical solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration with operations, product, and engineering.
• Experience with platforms like Retool, Zendesk, or similar internal tooling platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack internal applications and tools for operations teams.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs powering internal tooling for scalability and reliability.
• Build integrations with Retool, Zendesk, and other systems to create seamless workflows.
• Leverage AI tooling to automate workflows and improve operator productivity.
• Create data-driven features and analytics for actionable insights and visibility.
• Collaborate with operations stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor team members in engineering culture.
• Own features end-to-end from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve critical issues for internal users.
