Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Applied AI (Customer Agent) team to help build the AI-native conversational platform that powers autonomous customer service and multi-channel engagement.

You will design, scale, and deploy end-to-end systems spanning frontend React/TypeScript and backend Python/Django on AWS, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional initiatives with product, design, and data science teams.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with full-stack development across frontend and backend.
Experience leading multi-week technical projects and teams.
Hands-on with AI/LLM tooling, RAG, or agentic workflows.
Strong testing and automated CI/CD practices.
Product-minded with rapid iteration in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

Architect and scale end-to-end conversational AI platform components.
Design LLM orchestration, prompts, embeddings, and retrieval workflows.
Deliver full-stack solutions using React/TypeScript and Python/Django on AWS.
Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and GTM to translate needs into features.
Maintain CI/CD, observability, tracing, and testing for reliability.
