Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Applied AI (Customer Agent) team to help build the AI-native customer service platform. You will design, scale, and deploy end-to-end systems powering autonomous support and multi-channel engagement across chat, email, and SMS.

You will work across the stack (React/TypeScript, Python/Django, AWS), mentor engineers, and drive architectural choices, with a focus on reliability, observability, and rapid product delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with full-stack web software delivering production-grade systems.
• Proven ability to lead multi-week technical projects and own outcomes.
• Practical experience with LLMs, AI tooling, RAG, or agentic workflows.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong product intuition and rapid execution in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale end-to-end systems for Klaviyo's conversational AI platform.
• Design agentic orchestration patterns, prompt pipelines, embeddings, and retrieval workflows.
• Deliver full-stack solutions across frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Python/Django, AWS).
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and uphold architectural standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science and GTM to translate business needs into scalable features.
• Maintain observability, tracing, and robust deployment pipelines for reliability.
