Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to shape AI-driven solutions within our CX Engineering org. You will build scalable, reliable backend systems, design MLOps pipelines, and lead real-time data processing while mentoring peers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of related experience or Master's with 4+ years.
Experience in Python and at least one language such as Go or TypeScript.
Experience with modern backend frameworks (FastAPI/Django) and microservices.
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience with AI-assisted development environments (GitHub Copilot/Cursor).
Experience designing production-grade APIs and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Architectural leadership and back-end systems for highly available distributed services.
Design and implement MLOps pipelines and integrate LLMs/generative AI.
Implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming.
Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise coding standards across the team.
Collaborate with product management to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
