Job summary

SimpliGov LLC in Baltimore, MD is seeking an architect to raise the design floor across engineering, providing practical technical direction in a FedRAMP-conscious environment.

You will shape a govtech platform spanning microservices, front-end replatforming, AI products, and AI-native delivery, while keeping systems coherent, safe, and fast to change.

This role emphasizes architectural judgment, coaching teams, and collaboration with AI Operations and DevOps to codify design in delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience and driving architecture across multiple teams in SaaS or platform environments.
• Track record of designs that shipped and held up in production.
• Experience decomposing a monolith into services in production.
• Fluency with AI-era architecture and LLM integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-cutting technical direction across service boundaries and platform evolution.
• Design architecture decisions with explicit trade-offs and written rationale.
• Collaborate with dependent teams, gathering requirements and validating with real users.
• Coach tech leads to raise overall architectural capability of the organization.
• Keep designs simple and avoid unneeded complexity; treat it as a defect when present.
• Partner with AI Operations and DevOps to enforce architecture in delivery systems.
• Provide architectural judgment on AI agent-generated code within human-owned structure.
