Job summary

Oracle in the United States is seeking a Principal AI Agent / ML Software Engineer to lead design, build, and operation of next‑gen agentic AI platforms on OCI. You will set architectural direction and own production‑grade services, combining distributed systems with AI‑native engineering for scalable, secure, and observable systems.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive end‑to‑end delivery across multiple teams, and champion best practices for LLMs, tool use, memory, retrieval, and evaluation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience with production systems; Senior Staff / Principal‑level impact.
• Proven track record influencing architecture and execution across multiple teams.
• Deep experience designing, building, and operating high‑scale distributed systems and cloud services.
• Hands‑on experience with production AI systems, agentic AI applications, and multi‑agent workflows.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, LlamaIndex).
• Strong Python programming and production code quality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical owner for OCI AI platform capabilities, including agent execution and observability.
• Design and deliver scalable agentic AI systems with multi-step orchestration and safe human-in-the-loop escalation.
• Build production services for tool calling, memory, MCP integration, vector retrieval, and multi-agent coordination.
• Lead architecture for low latency, high throughput, GPU‑efficient, secure multi‑tenant operations.
• Define APIs, data models, state management, SLIs/SLOs, and operational readiness criteria for AI services.
• Drive technical strategy across infra, platform, security, data, and applications teams.
• Establish AgentOps and LLMOps practices for tracing, eval suites, testing, and safety guardrails.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and translate into enterprise-grade platform capabilities.
