Job summary

Confluent, a leading data streaming platform, seeks a strategic and hands-on leader to define and drive internal agentic AI capabilities and adoption of automated decisioning systems for R&D productivity. You will partner with Engineering, Security, and IT to scale AI usage and unlock value for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• 8+ years driving strategic productivity initiatives in SaaS/Cloud or developer tools with AI experience.
• Expertise in distributed systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize AI and agentic flows strategy, aligning metrics with engineering needs and platform opportunities.
• Build a roadmap for agentic automation features, smart assistants, and AI-driven workflows across engineering.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks across the product and software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Engineering, Trust and Security to scale AI capabilities responsibly.
• Operationalize AI adoption internally and share use cases externally.
• Lead complex cross-team projects requiring multi-stakeholder alignment.
• Raise code and architectural quality across engineering.
• Lead delivery of core agentic workflows improving productivity across engineering.
• Balance hands-on work with delegation (60% execution, 40% strategy).
• Drive measurable AI tooling adoption and ROI within internal teams.
• Adopt industry standards, guardrails, and quality metrics for AI behavior.
• Define success metrics and KPIs for AI usage and automation.
• Engage in external forums and evolve with the tech landscape.
• Write internal playbooks for scaling agentic outcomes.
