Job summary

Confluent is seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to define and drive its internal agentic AI capabilities and automated decisioning to accelerate R&D productivity. You will partner across Engineering, Security, and IT to scale AI usage across our platform.

You will operationalize a vision where AI augments developers, automates routine tasks, and orchestrates intelligent workflows that unlock new usage patterns. This role emphasizes measurable outcomes and responsible AI practices at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years driving strategic productivity initiatives, ideally in SaaS/Cloud or developer tools with AI exposure.
• Expert in building distributed systems and the infrastructure to support them.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize the AI and agentic flows strategy, aligning metrics with engineering and platform opportunities.
• Build a roadmap for agentic automation features, smart assistants, and AI-driven workflows across engineering.
• Lead cross-team projects requiring multi-stakeholder alignment while maintaining architectural quality.
• Deliver core agentic workflows that improve engineering productivity with a 60/40 execution/strategy mix.
• Drive measurable AI tooling adoption within internal teams and govern responsible AI practices.
