Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer in Cambridge, MA, to lead the design, development and deployment of AI-powered systems across the enterprise. You will supervise multi-disciplinary teams, optimize foundation models and deploy scalable AI infrastructure.

You will work with a broad stack including AWS, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch, while shaping responsible AI practices and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field with strong AI/ML focus and 8–10+ years of experience.
• Experience programming in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java and delivering AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (foundation models, LLM inference, agents).
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch).
• Innovate foundation model optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, and latency.
• Contribute to long-term AI infrastructure roadmap and architecture vision.
