Job summary

Teradata is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and scale of our enterprise AI platform. You will own architecture decisions and drive complex initiatives spanning LLMs, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), vector stores, and AI orchestration.

You will partner with product and architecture leadership, mentor engineers, and raise the technical bar across teams while delivering production-grade AI systems with reliability, governance, and cost- awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent.
• 8+ years building backend services or AI platforms.
• Proficiency in Java, Go or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of large-scale AI systems powering Teradata’s platform.
• Own end-to-end architecture for agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and vector stores.
• Drive technical strategy and architectural consistency across engineering teams.
• Mentor Senior and Staff engineers and lead architectural reviews.
• Partner with product, architecture, and cloud teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.
