Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Engineer to own substantial portions of the technical operating load for workplace AI, including platform configuration, connectors, observability, and secure secrets management. You will implement model and policy changes, run experiments, and translate technical signals into governance and risk narratives for stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head of AI Operations & Governance, this role requires hands-on production work, incident response, and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Experience with APIs, integrations, and infrastructure-as-config concepts.
• Hands-on with monitoring, logs, metrics, alerts to diagnose issues.
• Ability to document technical work clearly for mixed audiences.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain AI platform configurations and orchestration.
• Manage connectors, data access paths, and integrations with SaaS systems.
• Set up logging, metrics, alerts, and observability for AI workflows.
• Coordinate incidents, changes, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to playbooks, runbooks, and training materials.
