Job summary

CipherScale is seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to own the AI-native platform and release-engineering systems behind our continuous delivery model. You will set direction, remove bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineers to implement scalable, secure, and observable pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Platform/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
• Independent ownership of a platform or release-engineering function.
• Strong production experience with GCP and Cloud Run.
• Deep CI/CD design for multi-repo setups using GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, architecture, and operation of the platform and release-engineering systems.
• Design and maintain scalable infrastructure using GCP, Cloud Run, IaC, and managed services.
• Own CI across a six-repository cluster with safe build, test, and release processes.
• Build release automation for progressive delivery, rollback, and deployment policies.
• Improve build performance, test reliability, caching, and cost efficiency.
• Establish release observability and metrics across pipelines.
• Create clear release-gating policies balancing speed and stability.
• Partner with engineers to improve testability, safety, and operational readiness.
• Investigate CI failures and implement lasting corrective actions.
• Apply secure-by-default practices for credentials, artefacts, and workflows.
• Define platform standards and documentation for onboarding and autonomy.
• Use AI-enabled tooling to design, build, troubleshoot, and improve platforms.
