Title: Senior AI-Native Full Stack Software Engineer

Location: Glendale Office (1200 Grand Central Glendale, CA) Team sits onsite in Glendale 2-3 days per week.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Rate: $87.24/hour

As a Senior AI-Native Full Stack Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader within a team of experienced technologists solving complex architectural, operational, and platform challenges across the digital media lifecycle.

In this role, you will own technical direction, architectural governance, and system-wide reliability across enterprise backend (Java and Kotlin Spring Boot microservices) and frontend (React and TypeScript) ecosystems. You will help advance engineering practices by establishing robust patterns for integrating AI developer tooling into production workflows, improving code quality, and mentoring peers.

This position requires mature leadership grounded in intellectual humility, blameless post-mortems, transparent cross-functional partnership, and an open, collaborative approach to driving technical consensus.

Areas of Responsibility

• Architectural Ownership & Systems Strategy: Drive end-to-end design, technical roadmaps, and scalable implementation of distributed full-stack systems, event-driven architectures, and domain-driven microservices across Java/Kotlin Spring Boot and modern React/TypeScript environments.
• AI Tooling Strategy & Developer Productivity: Lead the adoption and standardization of AI-assisted engineering practices, including tools such as Claude Code and Cursor. Develop team-level prompt frameworks, contextual rules, and automated evaluation processes that accelerate delivery while improving quality.
• Human-in-the-Loop Governance & Quality Assurance: Establish team-wide verification standards for AI-assisted outputs. Define safeguards to prevent hallucinated dependencies, detect concurrency and security vulnerabilities, protect confidential information, and enforce reliable regression testing.
• Cross-Functional & Multi-Team Alignment: Partner effectively with Product Management, Technical Program Management, UX/Design, and Infrastructure/Cloud Engineering. Clarify business objectives and identify complex technical dependencies early.
• Technical Mentorship & Inclusive Culture: Lead through transparency, active listening, and blameless collaboration. Mentor mid-level and associate engineers, review high-impact system designs, and foster a culture that welcomes questions, alternative viewpoints, and learning from failure.
• Modernization & Platform Evolution: Lead initiatives to modernize legacy frontend systems, optimize PostgreSQL and NoSQL data tiers, and continuously improve CI/CD automation pipelines within enterprise monorepo environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience designing, deploying, and operating high-throughput, enterprise-scale production applications.
• Strong backend architectural expertise building resilient, distributed services and APIs using Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, with experience in clean architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Advanced frontend expertise in modern React architecture, including state management, component lifecycles, rendering optimization, and shared component management, along with experience refactoring or retiring legacy codebases.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging modern AI engineering agents in daily development. Ability to guide others in effective prompting, context management, token limitations, and critically evaluating AI-generated code for edge cases and security vulnerabilities.
• Extensive experience modeling, querying, indexing, and optimizing enterprise data workloads across relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL document databases such as MongoDB or DocDB.
• Ability to build alignment across diverse viewpoints through empathy, patience, and clear, respectful communication.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge, acknowledge mistakes, welcome alternative perspectives, and provide constructive feedback during architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts and trade-offs into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

Desired Skills & Experience

• AI Developer Tooling Infrastructure: Experience developing custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, automated synthetic test generation tools, or LLM evaluation pipelines integrated into continuous integration.
• Monorepo & Build Engineering: Experience scaling enterprise Nx monorepos, optimizing multi-package build caches, and configuring build tools such as Gradle, PNPM, and Nx.
• Enterprise Frontend Toolchains: Familiarity with Storybook design systems, Jest unit testing, and Cypress or Playwright end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Cloud & Observability Foundations: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud deployment environments, and distributed tracing and monitoring platforms such as Datadog or Prometheus.
• Domain Agility: Familiarity with digital media workflows, digital asset distribution, marketing technology, or creative production pipelines.
