Job summary

Google Workspace Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML in New York, NY, USA will work on advancing AI-powered features for Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, and Meet. You will design and implement scalable ML systems, collaborate across teams, and influence product decisions from model design to deployment.

The role requires strong Python/C++ skills, experience with ML infrastructure, and a track record in testing and deploying software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience programming in Python or C++.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio tech, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• Master's or PhD in CS or related field (preferred).
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role (preferred).
• Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to documentation and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve impact on hardware, network, or service operations.
• Design and implement solutions in ML areas, leverage ML infrastructure, and demonstrate expertise in a field.
