Job summary

NielsenIQ is seeking a scientist to join the Data Science organization to develop and deploy advanced statistical, ML, and AI methodologies. You will contribute to NIQ product and process enhancements through rigorous experimentation and cross-functional collaboration.

Lead end-to-end R&D projects, publish findings, and work with large-scale data systems (SQL, PySpark, Hadoop) in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills in English required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with outstanding analytical expertise.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in ML/AI research and development.
• Strong programming skills in Python without AI assistance and working with large-scale databases.
• Experience with SQL, Hadoop, PySpark and statistical packages; familiarity with CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new methodologies, research directions, prototype solutions, and quantify their improvement with rigorous scientific methods in ML/AI.
• Own all phases of an R&D project from conceptualization to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with operations, technology, data scientists, and stakeholders throughout projects.
• Deliver high-quality, publication-level documentation of new methodologies and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders on objectives, scope, and outcomes; manage multiple projects simultaneously.
