Job summary

The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, FL seeks a Senior Manager, AI & Machine Learning Engineering to found and lead the AI framework for Disney Financial Insights (D-Fi). You will build and run a global engineering team delivering the AI layer, data foundation, software workflows, and a natural-language experience that serves finance stakeholders.

This is a build-from-scratch mandate, shaping team structure, engineering practices, and architecture from MVP stage, collaborating with finance

Qualifications

10+ years of software and/or ML engineering leadership experience.
Production experience architecting and shipping LLM/AI applications.
Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks and vector databases.
Strong data modeling with semantic data layers.
Ability to read, write and review Python code.
Experience guiding web/full‑stack architecture decisions.
Knowledge of MLOps practices and CI/CD for ML systems.
Experience working across distributed teams across time zones.
Ability to translate finance problems into technical scope and trade‑offs.

Responsibilities

Own technical direction end-to-end for AI/ML and data layers.
Be the stakeholder-facing technical lead to finance partners.
Own the AI/LLM roadmap and govern the platform.
Enforce governance by design and RBAC across data personas.
Set engineering quality standards for code reviews, testing, and releases.
Decide when to build vs. integrate with existing systems (SAP, Cognos, EPM, etc.).
Champion adoption by partnering with finance transformation leads.
