Job summary

Abacus Insights is seeking a Senior AI/ML Ops Engineer to own reliability of ML and GenAI systems in production, spanning pipelines, model lifecycle, and platform infrastructure on Databricks and Snowflake.

You will lead platform and pipeline engineering, implement CI/CD workflows, and collaborate across data, software, and security teams to deliver scalable AI solutions while mentoring junior engineers and supporting client‑specific implementations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, MLOps, or a closely related discipline.
• AI/GenAI: agentic frameworks (e.g. LangChain), RAG systems, vector search, MCP or comparable tool‑integration protocols, model serving/gateway layers, evaluation design
• Classical ML: model development across common algorithm families, feature engineering, training pipelines, production deployment
• Deep, hands‑on experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake, including ML/AI pipeline development, governance Unity Catalog, and CI/CD integration
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve production infrastructure issues
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with non‑technical stakeholders
• Proactively learn new tools and frameworks and apply them quickly

Responsibilities

• Platform & Pipeline Engineering: Deploy and promote ML/GenAI models and pipelines across environments with CI/CD.
• Develop reusable deployment patterns and tooling for new AI/ML use cases and client deployments.
• Build and maintain data pipelines from ingestion to serving for both classical ML and GenAI workloads.
• Operate within Databricks and Snowflake governance frameworks to ensure secure promotion of code, data, and models.
• Independently diagnose and resolve production issues across pipelines, infrastructure, and model-serving systems.
• GenAI & Agentic Infrastructure: build retrieval‑augmented generation infrastructure, vector search indexing, and MCP server integrations.
• Cross‑Functional: collaborate with stakeholders, coordinate with software, data, and security teams, mentor juniors.
