Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams across projects spanning information retrieval, AI, NLP, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You will guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and help drive product strategy within Google Cloud initiatives.

You will manage projects, define roadmaps, and accelerate autonomous AI-enabled development while collaborating across sites internationally to deliver high-impact results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• 5 years of experience with generative AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals.
• Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of your teams.
• Oversee systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Drive technical project strategy, lead large-scale ML infrastructure optimization, and oversee the design and implementation of solutions across multiple specialized ML areas.
