Job summary

SIXGEN is seeking an AI/ML Engineer in Columbia, MD to join a team supporting US Cyber Command. You will design and integrate models, agents, and AI workflows on a secure enterprise platform, delivering production-ready capabilities with governance and security in mind.

The role requires strong Python expertise and hands-on experience with LLM/agent systems, RAG, vector databases, and tool-broker integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline; 10+ years experience; 4 years in lieu accepted
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly required
• Advanced Python for AI/ML development
• Experience building or integrating LLM/agent-based systems in production
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and prompt engineering
• Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced mission environments and identify operational risks early

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate models, agents, and AI workflows on the USCYBERCOM AI Enterprise platform
• Provide embedded operations support and rapid prototyping for AI/ML-enabled tools
• Design and orchestrate LLM/agent workflows using LangGraph, Agno, and NVIDIA NeMo Agent Toolkit
• Tune model gateway routing for cost, performance, and mission fit
• Develop RAG pipelines, vector databases, and memory services for agents
• Implement Model Context Protocol tool-broker integrations for secure access
• Evaluate and benchmark models and agent behaviors; build automated evaluation pipelines
• Collaborate with data scientists and mission analysts to production-grade AI capabilities
• Implement AI governance guardrails and document architectures and evaluations
• Research emerging LLM and agent tooling to keep capabilities current
