Job summary

prolificacademicltd is seeking a senior contract AI/ML engineer to train, evaluate, and provide expert feedback on large language models. You will work in an expert contributor network on one-hour sessions, applying production-grade ML knowledge and RLHF workflows.

Applicants undergo a brief 10-15 minute skills assessment before onboarding. The role offers fully remote work with flexible hours and hourly pay shown before commitment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in CS, AI, robotics or related ML field.
• Proven production experience building, deploying, or fine-tuning ML models.
• Deep understanding of neural networks (Transformers/CNNs/RNNs) and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, RAG, or RLHF workflows.
• Ability to audit model logic, detect data contamination, and assess proofs.
• Strong analytical eye for hallucinations and biased outputs.

Responsibilities

• Critique AI explanations of architectures, losses, and backpropagation.
• Review ML-specific code, training loops, preprocessing scripts, notebooks.
• Deliver high-quality human feedback to improve RLHF alignment.
• Stress-test reasoning on chain-of-thought prompts and flag issues.
• Benchmark model outputs against defined technical metrics.
