Job summary

Exact Sciences seeks a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer to independently drive complex AI/ML projects in cancer screening and precision oncology. You will partner with biostatisticians, bioinformatics scientists, and data scientists to ideate, design, implement, and deploy AI-driven solutions.

The role emphasizes applying cutting-edge AI methodologies across bioinformatics, biostatistics, and data science, with mentorship to junior team members and active participation in Agile development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Statistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related quantitative field; or master’s degree in Statistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related quantitative field as outlined in the essential duties plus 4 years of experience in lieu of a Ph.D.
• 3+ years of experience in statistics, computational biology, applied mathematics, or related quantitative field as outlined in the essential duties.
• 3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong programming ability with demonstrated experience in Python and one or more associated machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or SKLearn.

Responsibilities

• Maintain deep expertise in one or more AI technology areas and communicate relevance to biostatistics, bioinformatics and data science.
• Develop perspectives on AI technology affordance and what these advances enable.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine ML/AI requirements for bioinformatics, biostatistics, and data engineering.
• Design software solutions that utilize state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques in collaboration with engineers.
