Job summary

Boeing is seeking a Senior AI/ML Data Engineer to lead enterprise-scale data platforms powering vector search, RAG, and agentic AI initiatives. You will collaborate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, software, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure AI solutions.

The role demands deep expertise in AI data architecture, cloud platforms, and production-grade data systems, with strong communication to senior leadership. Hybrid work is available with onsite presence in DC/Reston.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Expert in Python, SQL, and modern software practices.
• Deep experience with cloud data/AI platforms (Azure/AWS/Google).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience implementing vector databases, embedding pipelines, retrieval systems, and RAG architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD, orchestration, infra automation, and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms for AI/ML.
• Establish controls for data quality, lineage, and prompt traceability.
• Lead AI data governance and explainability efforts.
• Direct architectural decisions for AI data infrastructure.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and cyber teams to productionize AI capabilities.
• Translate complex AI concepts for senior leadership.
• Coordinate AI initiatives across orgs to maximize reuse.
• Implement monitoring and observability for AI data platforms.
• Provide technical mentorship and promote engineering best practices.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and vector/database frameworks.
