Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Core AI Infrastructure to own the reliability and automation of AI infrastructure at scale. You will join a high-performing team within ESTO and build production-grade distributed systems powering Coinbase AI products.

Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, API design, platform abstractions, and mentoring engineers to raise the bar on observability and operational excellence. Strong AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Go/Python skills are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in automating and supporting cloud infra (AWS) and networks.
• Hands-on with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI products by building production-grade distributed systems across the full stack.
• Design clean APIs, abstractions, and developer tooling for platform adoption.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to align infra requirements and contracts.
• Shape engineering standards and mentor engineers to improve code quality and observability.
• Build full-stack apps powering internal AI products and infrastructure using Go or Python.
