Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Software Engineer based in or around Seattle to design, build, and scale AI infrastructure powering cutting-edge products used by millions. This is a fully remote, hourly contract role with 20–40 hours per week, offering high autonomy and meaningful ownership.

You will work on production-grade systems, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud services, collaborating asynchronously with ML researchers, engineers, and product managers to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in at least one modern language (Python, TS/JS, Go, Java, or similar).
• Experience building backend services, APIs, or data-intensive apps.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software for AI training and deployment.
• Write clean, tested, and performant code in Python or TS/JS.
• Build and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and backend services at scale.
• Architect scalable solutions balancing speed and long-term maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and cloud infrastructures.
• Collaborate asynchronously with ML engineers, researchers, and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Work independently on well-scoped projects with ownership.
