Job summary

KX is seeking a principal-level architect for its Forward Deployed Engineering team in New York. You will assess customer environments, design AI-enabled, high-performance data systems, and show concrete value across AI, real-time processing, and infrastructure modernisation.

You will lead from assessment to production alongside quants, traders and engineers. You will partner with CTOs and platform leaders to define a coherent estate, quantify latency and cost gains, and build reusable

Qualifications

• Strong capital-markets experience building front-office systems in production and under real market conditions.
• Experience delivering production AI, data-platform or high-performance computing systems at scale.
• Practical experience with GPU or other accelerated-compute technologies.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks for AI systems and measuring metrics honestly.
• Experience benchmarking workloads and diagnosing performance, scalability and cost.

Responsibilities

• Assess the environment: run architecture, AI-readiness and workload-performance diagnostics in the customer’s environment.
• Identify accelerated-compute opportunities and prove with numbers.
• Evaluate AI/agent use cases: feasibility, architecture, cost and ops considerations.
• Design across the estate: one coherent system spanning KX tech and customer data.
• Map the data estate with customers and understand ontology for leverage.
• Quantify gains in latency, throughput, scalability and cost.
• Define the engagement hypothesis and how success will be measured.
• Benchmark and prototype on real customer data, with publishable results.
• Lead through to production with senior technical leadership.
