Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and delivery of a major AI product area spanning modelling workflows, platforms, APIs and user interfaces. You will set technical direction, architect agent-based systems, and mentor engineers while ensuring scalable, observable, and responsible AI deployment.

You will collaborate with product, design and research to shape what gets built, establish standards for API layers, LLM orchestration and frontend architecture,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related field
• 8+ years of combined ML/data science and full-stack engineering experience with leadership
• Expertise across AI product stack: modelling, evaluation, frontend and backend, cloud deployment
• Experience designing API layers for multiple consumers with contracts & non-functional requirements
• Experience designing AI orchestration at production scale: retrieval, tool use, agent frameworks, evaluation
• Experience leading frontend architecture and LLMOps for a product area
• Experience designing and operating agentic systems enabling continuous research and product iteration
• Ability to mentor junior/mid-level engineers and improve delivery capability

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for product area and modelling pipelines
• Design agentic research systems for experiments and production monitoring
• Partner with product, design and research to shape what gets built
• Define patterns for agent-generated work and safe human review gates
• Set patterns for AI-assisted development and safe tooling use
• Lead API layer design and cross-consumer integration contracts
• Lead shared infrastructure to reduce integration costs across teams
• Define AI integration, evaluation and responsible deployment standards
• Lead frontend architecture and UI component library for the area
• Own LLMOps and observability strategy, including production monitoring
