Job summary

Snowflake is hiring a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer II for Frontier Engineering. The role embeds with key customers to design and deploy production-grade AI systems, guiding technical direction and multi-year roadmaps across accounts.

You will stay hands-on, write production code, review designs, and set engineering standards while mentoring senior engineers and aligning cross-functional teams. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with AI/ML systems at scale.
• Trusted technical advisor to CTOs and senior engineering leaders.
• Experience turning delivery patterns into reusable platforms and libraries.
• Deep expertise in production AI architectures and guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority and architectural leader for strategic accounts.
• Lead architectural steering, reviews, and multi-year AI roadmaps.
• Influence product direction with customer feedback and deployment learnings.
• Write production code and review designs to demonstrate depth.
• Set organization-wide standards for evaluation, observability, and security.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop technical leaders.
• Travel to customer sites at least 25% of the time.
