Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the AI Foundations team in Seattle. You will design, develop, and operate high-quality software delivering traveler, partner, and business value across services, focusing on scalable AI-enabled workflows and robust, observable systems.

Lead design efforts, mentor peers, and drive standards for code quality, security, and reliability while leveraging AI concepts to build agentic orchestration across our platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's in software development.
• Experience owning end-to-end lifecycle of services including design, deployment, monitoring and incident response.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin or Python and strong system design, API design, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and integrating AI/ML capabilities into products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable services that power AI-enabled workflows.
• Lead system-level and API design for distributed services and data modeling.
• Safely integrate AI/ML features with emphasis on reliability, observability, and security.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to define technical direction and reusable features.
• Set coding standards and mentor engineers in modern software and AI practices.
• Apply AI/ML concepts to real-world products and design agentic orchestration and safeguards.
