Job summary

Capital One seeks an experienced Sr. Lead AI Engineer to design and implement AI-powered banking solutions. You will work with a cross-functional team of engineers and researchers to deploy foundation models, optimize LLMs, and ensure scalable, responsible AI systems.

Responsibilities include developing AI components, evaluating models, and shaping the technical vision and roadmap for Capital One's AI platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with 6+ years of experience or Master's with 4+ years.
Experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java (6+ years)

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (LLM inference, training, guardrails, etc.).
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch).
Develop state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for production systems.
Contribute to long-term foundational AI system roadmaps.
