Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design, build and deploy AI-powered systems at scale, collaborating with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver innovative banking experiences.

You will work on foundation model training, large model inference, similarity search, guardrails, governance and observability, leveraging Open Source and SaaS AI stacks such as PyTorch, HuggingFace and VectorDBs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE with 4+ years (or Master's with 2+ years) in AI/ML.
• Strong programming experience in Python and at least one of Go/Scala/Java.
• Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and large model inference.
• Work with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as PyTorch, HuggingFace, and VectorDBs.
• Develop optimization techniques to improve latency, cost, throughput and scalability of AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI platforms.
