Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Principal Cloud & Platform Architect to lead the design of a hybrid cloud data mesh for the L-CAP platform. You will shape platform services, CI/CD, reliability, and cost modeling across environments, while embracing an AI-first engineering mindset.

The role is based in multiple locations including Eagan, MN, with a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote). U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years in cloud and platform engineering.
• Expert-level cloud architecture experience with AWS or Azure GovCloud.
• Production Kubernetes experience at scale (100+ nodes).
• Deep Terraform/IaC expertise for enterprise infrastructure management.
• Platform engineering leadership for large development organizations.
• FedRAMP platform compliance and boundary design experience.
• Container orchestration and microservices platform design.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design the hybrid cloud architecture spanning on-prem and cloud.
• Define Kubernetes orchestration strategy for containerized workloads at scale.
• Establish IaC governance using Terraform.
• Architect FedRAMP-compliant platform designs across environments.
• Design and govern CI/CD platform services for engineering teams.
• Lead capacity planning and infrastructure cost modeling.
• Define platform reliability standards with SLOs/SLIs.
• Oversee multi-environment deployment (dev/test/stage/prod).
• Drive cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
• Champion AI-assisted development to improve productivity and quality.
