Job summary

We're hiring an experienced AI Engineer to build the venture intelligence platform behind one of Silicon Valley's leading venture capital firms.

This is an opportunity to build from zero the AI, data, and software systems that shape how a top-tier investment team discovers companies, evaluates markets, understands founders, and makes investment decisions.

You'll work directly with experienced investors and a network of former founders, CTOs, CPOs, and founding engineers who have built category-defining technology companies and backed many of today's leading AI businesses.

The Mission

Build the technology that gives the firm an enduring advantage in finding, understanding, and winning the world's best startups.

The systems you build will directly influence investment decisions involving billions of dollars of capital.

You'll have the freedom to identify where technology can create the most leverage, turn ideas into working products quickly, and iterate directly with the people using them.

What You'll Build

You'll own a broad and evolving portfolio of internal products, including:

• AI-powered market intelligence that surfaces emerging companies, technologies, and trends
• Founder and company intelligence platforms that help investors build deeper conviction
• Portfolio intelligence and monitoring systems
• Market maps and competitive intelligence tools
• Deal sourcing and workflow automation
• Internal AI copilots and Slack agents
• Data infrastructure and pipelines connecting dozens of external sources
• And whatever else you identify that could make the firm dramatically better at investing

This isn't a fixed roadmap. You are the roadmap.

You'll have significant autonomy to decide what should exist, why it matters, and how to build it.

Qualifications:

We're looking for an engineer who is as excited about building products as they are about writing code.

You should have:

• 2+ years of experience shipping production software in a startup environment
• Strong Python experience and comfort with modern cloud infrastructure
• Experience building user-facing AI products powered by LLMs - not simply calling an API, but designing, evaluating, debugging, and improving AI systems in production
• Experience working with APIs and messy, real-world data
• Strong product instincts and the ability to move from problem → prototype → production quickly
• A high degree of ownership and comfort operating with minimal direction

You should also have a genuine fascination with startups and how companies are built.
