Job summary

Companion Group Ltd is a fully remote AAA co‑development studio known for tackling complex multiplayer challenges. We seek a Senior AI Engineer to craft believable, scalable AI for massive multiplayer games, integrating with a distributed team of designers and engineers.

You will build AI decision-making, optimize pathfinding for dense populations, and ensure network-efficient behavior across servers while collaborating closely with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional game development with core AI architecture focus.
• Deep Unreal Engine experience: AI controllers, NavMesh, behavior systems.
• Experience with C/C++ OOP or ECS paradigms on proprietary engines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and refine multiplayer-ready AI frameworks and navigation.
• Write clean, low-latency C++ code with high performance.
• Collaborate with designers/animators to craft expressive AI behaviors.
• Architect server-authoritative AI with efficient state replication.
• Address dynamic pathfinding, spatial reasoning and crowd coordination.
