Baselayer is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to own an enrichment surface end-to-end. You’ll build a scalable web-presence discovery and verification platform, link people to businesses via web evidence, and craft robust risk scoring for underwriting. You’ll select models, design agents, and optimize costs in a fast-moving startup setting.

The role combines research with production ownership, in a small, highly capable team solving real-time entity resolution at scale.

Qualifications

• Shipped LLM-driven agents to production with real users and cost.
• Strong async Python and modern web frameworks.
• Experience with multiple frontier LLM providers and an agent framework.
• Built or maintained evaluation methodology with datasets and scoring.
• Opinionated on structured-output reliability and JSON/schema vs function calls.

Responsibilities

• Own industry/category classification from heterogeneous signals.
• Build and maintain discovery and verification systems for web presence.
• Link individuals to businesses via public web evidence.
• Develop risk/legitimacy scoring from signals for underwriting.
• Own model selection, agent design, prompts and cost control.
