Job summary

VIVIO Health is hiring a senior engineer to build AI features, starting with language-model capabilities for clinical, client success, and member experience teams. You’ll implement production-grade AI within our AWS-based platform, balancing model use with deterministic approaches and integrating data flows with health plans and providers.

You will ship features in Python/FastAPI on MySQL, work with Jinja2/Tailwind/Alpine.js frontend, and maintain robust testing, linting, and CI practices while

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production software with ownership of critical systems.
• Strong Python with FastAPI and async framework experience.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Proficient in Linux development and remote desktop workflow.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend LLM-backed capabilities on AWS Bedrock and related models for clinical, client success, and member teams.
• Establish evals for AI features to monitor quality drift.
• Manage production AI concerns: structured output, cost, latency, and deterministic alternatives.
• Use AI coding tools in workflow and verify outputs they produce.
• Design, build, test, and ship Python/FastAPI backend with MySQL and AWS; front end with Jinja2, Tailwind, Alpine.js.
• Integrations with carriers and pharmacies using NCPDP D.0, X12 270/271, SFTP and related formats.
• Add test and lint gates; treat CI as part of definition of done.
• Prioritize PHI handling as a core design constraint.
• Write clear specs, prompts, and design notes; strong written communication.
