Berkley Technology Services (BTS), an IT solutions partner for W. R. Berkley Corporation, is seeking a Sr. AI Engineer in Urbandale, IA to build and operate AI-enabled features and services.

You will deliver production code, wire RAG pipelines, and integrate AI capabilities into web applications. Join a team focused on Responsible AI, data protection, and scalable, observable systems. You will own CI/CD, telemetry, and incident response while collaborating with analysts, QA, and product owners

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on AI/LLM engineering delivering agentic AI systems.
• Proficiency in Python and modern engineering practices (testing, linting, typing, packaging, CI).
• Experience with cloud AI platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Hands-on experience with vector databases and search algorithms.
• Production observability and CI/CD mindset; on-call experience beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build Python services and microservices exposing AI capabilities; write clean, tested code.
• Implement end-to-end RAG pipelines: connectors, parsing, embeddings, indexing, retrieval.
• Create and operate agentic workflows; iterate prompts/flows and evaluations.
• Integrate AI into web apps (REST/GraphQL) with validation and resilience.
• Own CI/CD and containerization; add telemetry, dashboards, and alerts; on-call readiness.
• Apply Responsible AI, data protection, and access controls in code.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA, and product owners in agile cadence.
