Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to advance scalable AI systems in a banking context. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products that reshape customer interactions and internal workflows.

You will design and deploy foundation models, conduct inference, and optimize multi-model pipelines while ensuring governance, observability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE or related field with several years of AI/ML experience.
• Master's degree in CS/AI/EE or related field with several years of AI/ML experience.
• 6+ years programming experience in Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including training and inference.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech like AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, latency, and cost of large-scale AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
• Design and optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines and governance reviews.
