Job summary

Barclays in Whippany, NJ is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to reinvent Investment Banking Research with AI solutions. You will build high-impact AI engagements with senior stakeholders, delivering production-grade APIs and agentic AI applications.

The role requires strong Python engineering and experience with LangChain, RAG, and AWS cloud deployments. You will operate in a production environment with a focus on measurable business impact and collaboration with technology teams.

Qualifications

• Strong Python engineering experience building and deploying production-grade APIs with FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience designing agentic AI applications using LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.
• Deep experience developing RAG solutions, including vector databases, semantic search, reranking, and retrieval optimization.
• Understanding of MCPs, FastMCP, tool calling, and agent orchestration patterns.
• Experience deploying scalable cloud-native applications on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, Bedrock) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
• Collaborate with technology to specify data, environments and tools required for analytical solutions.
• Develop high-performing, well-documented analytics and modelling solutions and demonstrate their efficacy to users.
• Implement analytics and models in stable software and work with tech to operationalise them.
• Provide ongoing support for analytics and modelling solutions to users.
• Demonstrate conformance to risk management policies and governance.
